Doctors of Audiology
David A. Berkey, Au.D.

“Sometimes…
…you don’t really know what your calling is until you find it. I found mine helping my dad one summer in Los Angeles. He fit hearing aids for a living in an era without today’s advanced technology or scientific techniques. He and Mom worked long hours helping people overcome their hearing troubles. People respected them.
“That summer, while I was still a college undergraduate, Dad needed help managing his office in order to take a much-needed vacation. I jumped right in. Although I had not considered ‘following in my father’s footsteps’ before, to my surprise, I loved it. I decided to pursue formal training in audiology and eventually earned my doctorate.
“Today, much like my dad, I’m helping as many people as possible hear better and enjoy their lives more. And, like my dad, I especially like helping the ones who have special challenges or need extra personal care.”
